4) Buy products from companies that support rescue initiatives:
Many companies do not always look at profits but also support efforts that bring a difference in life. A good example is Grounds & Hounds, which gives 20 percent of its profit to rescue organizations.
These donations are changing the way animals are cared for in shelters.
When you buy coffee from the company, you are supporting animal rescue shelters. Find others who support such initiatives and spend your money on their products.
5) Work with animal rescue organizations near you:
You need not be famous to spread the word about animal shelters and the dogs available for adoption. However, it’s always good when celebs use their popularity to do that.
You can also do it by sharing this information with people close to you. You may find yourself helping an animal by finding someone who needs a pet.
6) Encourage your friends to go to an animal shelter when they need a pet:

We have a birth announcement! Eleanor came to LAM very preggo when her family kicked her out because she kept getting pregnant. Last week this pretty lady gave birth to 15 little ones! We don’t know who dad is, but early guesses include a cow- just look at their spotted coats! These puppies are just one week old today, so we will begin accepting applications for Eleanor and her puppies in October, once the puppies are older and no longer need to be with mom. For now, everyone is happy, healthy, and thriving in a loving foster home, but all of them will need vaccinations, microchips, and alters, not to mention lots of food! Eleanor is very skinny and needs to gain some weight in addition to caring for her 15 puppies. This is a giant litter, so we're taking extra special care of Eleanor and giving her a helping hand with her pups. To help us help her, we're offering a special incentive: If you bring a can or bag of high-quality dog food or powdered goat’s milk to the Mutt Run Pep Rally on Sept 11, we’ll give you 3 free raffle tickets for any item at that event! For more details on the Pep Rally, visit bit.ly/MuttRunPepRally While our adoption donations cover some of our costs associated with raising a litter like this one, we rely on fundraising for the rest. Helping dogs like Eleanor and her puppies are part of why we run at the Mutt Run. We all know this story too well. A friend starts a conversation on the need to buy a new pet and thinks he can only get the breed of their choice from a pet store. Shopping for a pet comes with a host of disadvantages. But we don’t aim to discourage those shopping for dogs.
