Have you heard of someone giving out her dog to a dog shelter because the dog is too friendly?
This is what happened to Helena, the dog.
According to an email sent to TODAY by Karen Hirsch of LifeLine Animal Project, the dog was taken to the shelter for being too nice.
The gentleman was looking for a dog that can provide protection. The man was of the view that such a sweet dog should be given to a lady because ladies like lovely pets.
There is no evidence to show that men hate such pets, but what Helena’s former owner says about this dog is right.
When Helena was being brought to the shelter, she never resisted, she seemed to agree with everything the owner was doing.

All she wanted was attention as she sat on the feet of one of the workers at the shelter wagging her tail on the ground. She wants you to continue petting her, and if you stop, she requests you to go on.
Helena prefers being close to people she loves – this is why she was nicknamed Velcro dog.
Just like Velcro, Helena will always be by your side, said Hirsch. Karen Hirsch said Helena wants to be pampered all the time.
