All of us have heard that a dog is man’s best friend, luckily the saying turned out to be right on 28th July when a man in Virginia attempted to kidnap a small girl.
A young girl aged ten was physically abused by a stranger while on a walk with her dog in the local area at about 3.45 pm.
The dog bit the man after he grabbed the girl by the arm, and he released her and fled. She suffered no injuries.

A report on the incident was posted on Facebook by the Prince William County Police Department.
More than 500 Facebook users have shared the post, with the internet community full of praise for the courageous dog who rescued the girl from the hands of the abductor.
Regrettably, authorities look like they were unable to find the culprit. A search on the neighborhood with the help of the K-9 unit yielded no fruits.

This incident is one among many in which a dog has come to the aid of a girl or woman following threats from suspicious characters bent on causing harm.
In October, a teenager had her pit bulldog named Apollo to thank after the dog saved her from a rapist at Red Hook in Brooklyn. The dog attacked the would-be rapist before he caught up with the girl, biting his leg.
The following month, a dog in the UK, kept a rapist at bay after he attempted to attack a mother of three. The man grabbed the woman and pulled her to a dark place. He covered the woman’s mouth to prevent her from calling for help. Her dog Lola was on time to ensure her owner was not harmed. She bit the assailant’s arm, and he released the woman and fled.
It looks like a time has come for us to change this saying to a dog is a woman’s best companion.
