When Mollie was first adopted, the puppy had anxiety and did not like sleeping in her crate. Now the sweet little dog has a custom made baby crib to sleep in every night. It’s just about the cutest thing ever.
Nicki Fricker was at her local animal rescue center when a man walked in with a small dog on a leash. The man was surrendering his puppy, explaining his wife was having a baby and they didn’t need the dog anymore. Nicki couldn’t get over how cute the puppy was, and didn’t want her to be left at the shelter. Ms. Fricker talked the man into letting her have the dog.
Nicki then phoned her husband and told him the news. Her husband said he didn’t want another dog and they should find a home for the puppy. Nicki agreed they would only temporarily foster the dog. But Nicki’s husband fell in love with the little dog, and on September 1, 2018, they officially adopted Mollie Belle.
Mollie was nervous when she first arrived at her new home. She had anxiety when put in a crate for the night, so Nicki tried to find a solution. When she came across a Facebook post about free scrap wood in her neighborhood, Nicki got an idea. They picked up the scrap wood and used it to build a custom made crib for Mollie.
They finished the crib with a white coat of paint and some final decorative touches. Then they added a small mattress, and it was ready to use. The result is so beautiful! It looks like a model baby’s crib out of a catalog.
The inside of the crib has a metallic “M” throw pillow, a photograph hanging on the wall inside the crib, a bedtime book, a favorite stuffed toy, and loads of blankets and pillows. It’s a dream escape for anyone, let alone a puppy!
Her owners made the crib large, so she can play in it if she wants. She has her favorite blanket, and a picture of the family to comfort her. Check out Mollie’s beautiful crib in the video below:
