A 6-year-old Labrador Retriever dog named Beaux Tox who lives in Austin, Texas was neglected for five years in owners backyard.
The young dog had a facial deformity; however, was given a new lease on life after a woman treated him like family. Jamie Hulit decided to adopt Beaux in April 2017.
The sick dog was on his fifth year living in owners backyard without a dog bed or dog house. The dog experienced scorching heat conditions reaching up to 110-degrees heat.
When Jamie adopted him, Beaux was severely underweight at approximately 42 pounds and had a terrible heartworm infestation. The vet told her he had a 50/50 chance to survive.
When Beaux was a little pup, he was born with a group of other dogs bred waiting to be sold however he was given away for free because of his facial deformity to a man living in Austin.
The man was not prepared to have a dog but decided to own it anyway. Unfortunately, Beaux Tox was neglected and had nowhere else to go.
Jamie who also lives in Austin noticed a Facebook post from her friend about fostering the dog Beaux. Jamie currently fosters dogs from five different animal rescues. “I was not interested in fostering him; I wanted to adopt him right away,” she tells Fox News.
