Cash’s time was running out.
The news about cancer affecting their dog Cash was broken by a veterinary officer towards the end of March. The dog owners, Paul Phillips a guitarist and Karen Perry, his fiance were told he would soon succumb to a cancer ailment.
The couple said goodbye to their dog and their Florida home was left without a dog. They were brokenhearted, Jen Deane from a rescue group in Florida said when speaking to MNN.

Not far from their home, a puppy was waiting to be adopted. The puppy named AJ was among twelve litters born by a dog. Her mom had been living in a local shelter but was rescued by Pit Sisters. The twelve puppies suffered from a fatal viral disease, but AJ, together with two others, survived.
He didn’t give up the fight, Deane said. He persevered all through. AJ became stronger every day; he became a lovely member of his family until Perry came calling.
She came across a Facebook post on AJ. The couple had shown interest in him. Dean dispatched AJ’s foster mother to the new home to check if the environment was conducive for a dog.
