Sylvia Shoen is the wife of U-Haul billionaire Joe Shoen who decided to dump a seven sick Rottweilers to a pet-adoption charity group.
The couple initially agreed to pay for the medical cost but only after a nasty dispute on social media.
The pet-adoption charity group decided to waive the $600 fee because she felt terrible for Shoen. The group never realized that Shoen’s husband is the second-richest man in Arizona. He is worth about $2.7 billion.
Shelly Froehlich who is the owner of Rotten Rottie Rescue center realized the dogs Shoen dropped off were very sick. The conditions these dogs have will require costly treatments and surgeries.
Some of the dogs had symptoms of diarrhea and hydration troubles while others had genetic disorders and parasites. The dogs were also not given their vaccinations, and some of them had roundworm among other issues.
Two of the dogs needed surgery which would cost upwards of $20,000. Froehlich decided to contact the Shoen’s to get them to pay the medical bills. She later learned Joe Shoen and his brother made their billions of dollars from their U-Haul rental vehicle business.
A disagreement ensued between Froelich and Sylvia Shoen on who will cover the dogs’ medical expenses.
Froehlich told Schoen via text that “No one will adopt these dogs with huge medical expenses that will help them live a life of being happy and pain-free.”
She also told Schoen in a text that “I can’t believe a person of your wealth, would let these dogs get into a state that there are in.”
Froehlich couldn’t believe that she didn’t want to pay for surgery. These people are billionaires! They have handbags that cost more than the surgery.
The adoption center was very disappointed as they didn’t want to put them out of their misery when they can have a good life.
