Korea is known for many beautiful things, but, sadly, they are also known for its dog meat trade.
Many dogs in the country are victims to this and, most likely, Danpoong will be one of them. Fortunately, this Korean Jindo got rescued before that happens.
The dogs ate leftover foods and licked muddy puddles for water for them to survive.
Free Korean Dogs founder, Ek Park, said that the man always has dogs. He sold some of them to dog meat seller, bred some, and killed the others for his own consumption. This is a common practice in South Korea’s rural areas.
While living in the dump, Jinoak, Park’s colleague, kept an eye on Danpoong as well as the two other dogs.
Then, the time came when Jinoak tried to rescue them. The man reluctantly agreed only because Danpoong was losing weight and had heartworm disease. Jinoak told the man that he wouldn’t want to eat a sick dog.
They planned to fly Danpoong to North America. However, she needed to be treated first. So, Danpoong stayed with Ms. Jung for six months before she left the country.
